General Motors Co. is adding a third shift at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant to keep up with demand for the 2016 Camaro and plans to hire more than 500 employees in the coming months. When hiring is complete, the plant will employ roughly 2,300 people, according to the company. The third shift is expected to start sometime in the second quarter of this year.
Shipt, an on-demand grocery delivery service, today announced that the company will hire 150 Shoppers to support its expansion to Columbus, Ohio. Beginning on Jan. 6, 2016, Shoppers will deliver fresh groceries straight to customers' doors as soon as one hour after order in Columbus and surrounding areas.
Shoppers are able to set their own schedule through a custom app which allows them to select orders which work with their daily routine. Shipt offers flexibility to Shoppers, who can either work full-time with the company or select orders as their schedule permits. Many Shoppers are students, stay-at-home parents or have additional employment outside of Shipt.
Xerox Corp. plans to hold a job fair next week to fill roughly 200 new positions at its customer care center in Webster.
It will be held at the Radisson Hotel Riverside on East Main Street in Rochester on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Xerox is looking to fill positions ranging from customer care agents to supervisors and managers. Salaries for the positions range from $12 an hour to $50,000 annually. On-the-spot interviews will be conducted for all positions, the company said.
Eberspächer has openings for 50 positions that need to be filled immediately, including production associates, hi-lo drivers and welders. The company offers competitive pay, a 401K with a 4 percent match and growth opportunities in the company, according to a press release.
Boeing OKC will host a job fair on Thursday in Midwest City. The company recently announced it will have about 600 job openings over the next year. The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 3 at the Sheraton Hotel, Reed Conference Center in Midwest City off of Interstate 40 and Sooner Road. The company said it is looking for engineering talent in areas of software, electrical and systems engineering.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is holding a career fair from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger.
